Being a Good Steward

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about being a good steward of all the blessings I have been given. I think, quite often as Americans, we are not always aware of all the blessings we have. We argue over many things in our country, and although many of them are valid concerns/issues, I often wonder should our time be spent focused on other things. . . People in other countries and our own country who are dying and no knowing Christ, children who are starving, people who have way less than what we do. Even the poorest Americans, are more wealthy than the majority of the world. Yet, how often do we live outside our means? How often do we purchase "things" we don't need? If we live inside our means, I think we would be surprised at all God provides. . . daily blessings.

I have done this before, but never very publicly nor have I done it for this long. . The Challenge: 60 days of not spending on ANYTHING but the essentials. . .

Whew! No Starbucks, nothing extra at the grocery store or at Target. . . Just the basics. . .

Now, I am going to allow a few expections: 1. I can spend for my haircut/color in a few weeks. Ok, a girl's gotta keep those locks lookin' good. . . 2. I can go out to eat with a Giftcard and I am allowed to eat out twice on the week I have both AM and PM rounds if time becomes very short. . . 3. I can buy tickets to the Casting Crowns Concert. Ok, I will be in Raleigh that weekend, and had planned to spend that money. 4. I can pay for the dogs to have their dental appt. (it is due this month).

Whew! So now that I have a few "ok" moments. . .

Here goes the challenge. . .
Start Date: October 15
End Date: December 15.

You may be asking what I plan to do with the extra money. . . I do not know yet. . . I'm praying about it and will keep ya updated!

So, stay tuned for updates every few days on the "no spend" challenge. . .
