Prayer Request/Update on me

I have a prayer request for my parents. My dad has an appointment on June 2 at 9AM. . . Please join us in praying around that time. . Pray for the folks involved in making decisions, pray for guidance and wisdom. I will update you on this next week. I believe God is in control and good things are to come at this appointment. And, should the Lord decide that my desires, my requests are not in HIS plan I WILL TRUST HIM!

Work went well last week. . .I am a bit tired at the end of the day, but it is going well. I am in need of people to drive me to and from work next week, so if anyone is able to assist with that, it would be appreciated. I need to leave my house around 7:30AM and can leave work around 5pm-5:30pm. . . Wednesday afternoon I am in need of someone to take me to the surgeon's office as well as PT for follow-ups.

Usually, I can find someone to take me home, just not always to take me in the mornings. So, the mornings and Wednesday appointments are more of my concern.

Thank you to all who have helped!

I am blessed to be healing and doing well!

Back to work. . .

I hope everyone is well. . .A few folks had sent emails asking for updates, so I thought I would just let everyone know that my return to work has been going well. . .

I am tired at the end of the day and the office has tried to watch my schedule as much as possible. I am utilizing crutches at work and doing well. I have a scooter I also use and that has helped. Most of my little ones ask to "ride her scooter!" It is too cute!

I am still not able to drive, but have been blessed to have folks take me to and from work as well as help me to run various errands if necessary. I've also had two amazing puppy sitters- Amy and Becky, THANK YOU!!
Both have made certain I have visit time with Shelton and Molly and have done a great job taking care of them.

Dr. O is taking my stitches out tomorrow. Say a prayer for him! Just kidding! I was going to do it myself, but where one of the stitches is located would be a bit of a challenge. . . So, I asked him to take them out.

Thanks for the man prayers!! God is always faithful!!

Update. . .

This is from a few days ago. . . I was trying to post with some pictures.. . BUT, my laptop has decided to die. . .YIKES!!

Several folks emailed me today and yesterday asking for an update. I apologize for a delay in sending, it has just been a bit crazy.

Basically, on Wednesday morning, I decided to wash some clothes. . . Well, my washer decided to leak into the master suite. It was a big mess, but to quote a friend, "I've seen worse, but I've dealt with less." Anyway, carpets were torn up, floors mopped, and doors taken down. . . It is still in the process of drying, but it is almost done and there seems to be no damage in the walls, etc. YEAH!! God does provide!!

I was having a terrible time with post-op pain. . . I just could not get any relief. We added some Toradol (short-term) and that has helped. I was able to sleep for over 3 hours at a time last night. Praise God!!

Today was my f/u bandage change from surgery. Basically, the wound is healing nicely, it is still draining some but looks good. The PA told me a bit more about the surgery. It involved a little more than what my friend was told post-op. But, long story short, it was needed and should improve my movement. I can return to work with rather limited weight bearing utilizing crutches and a boot, but am not able to drive at this point. I started walking with the boot some today. . .a few steps. I can tell it is going to take time, but it feels better than yesterday and it will feel better with each day. . .

So, that's the update!! Thanks for all the calls, cards, prayers, etc. My office delivered a nice plant today, several folks have brought meals, and many others have gone well above the call of duty to help with "things." God always provides for our needs!!

Surgery/Interesting Encounters. . .

I am up a bit. . .still really groggy. . . BUT, basically the surgery was successful. He was able to do the minor procedure vs. the more extensive one. . . AND, he found a piece of scar tissue "floating" around my ankle joint. . . So, he feels that was the problem all along. WHEW!! It is now removed and I am moving around slowly, on crutches for a week. . . Still a bit groggy and having some pain, but I know that it will all work out. . . I did not speak with him after the surgery, so once I know a few more details, I will let you know. . .

Ok, I must share something cool that happened to day. For those that follow my blog, I started this project of collecting 365 people's pictures to commit to praying for them at least one day a month . . .I wanted it to be people who helped me out at some point over the past few years, people God placed in my path, people I felt led to pray for, etc. I felt God asking me to take it today to take pictures of some of the ladies who have helped me out tremendously with past surgeries. Do you know that THREE of them had immediate prayer needs- that they discovered only last week- one was on Friday afternoon?!?!?!?!

One lady is fighting a personal illness, one lady's daughter has found out she will loose her vision (she is a teen), one lady's mom is having some serious health issues. . . I had the pleasure to pray with all three of them today over those issue. Keep in mind they only learned of them this past week. Originally, I wanted my surgery to be scheduled for Friday, I was upset that it was not b/c I felt that was "my best time." Boy! God sure showed up for me to know that this was HIS TIMING for this procedure!!

Thanks for your prayers! I apologize for an misspellings. . . I am still really woozy!

My folks

My parents had a long day today. . .It was my dad's birthday as well. . . Basically, we are in a cycle of sit, wait, rescheduled appointments, and trust God to place people in our lives to handle the details. . . My dad is in a lot of pain, but we know that WE MUST WAIT and TRUST. I know that your prayers really went through today. . . God spoke very clearly to me and gave me quite a smile. After receiving the phone call from my sister today, I was very upset. Anyway, I went to the local Christian Bookstore while running errands to purchase a birthday gift. I was looking at the children's section and came across a book entitled, "God is in control!" I had to laugh and enjoyed reading it. . . God is in control of this situation.

Also, I received an email from the surgeon who did the surgery on my left foot in 2007. I had sent him all of the information for my upcoming foot surgery (MRIs, CT scans, etc.) and asked for his opinion. He agreed to review the records and suggest a plan. . . He agreed that surgery is my best option. What a confirmation for me to know the right decision was made! I feel at peace about the decision and I know God has a reason for all of this. . . I am looking forward to a week off to rest and spend time with HIM. I am actually going to be doing a Beth Moore 10 week study during that week. I am longing to spend time in HIS WORD and felt led to complete this study! :o)

Details are starting to come together for Belize and I am feeling God's presence with that trip!

Surgery Went Well

Praising God at this moment!! Surgery went well. I am still having a lot of nausea. But, I did much better than before. I had the same CRNA who has done my anesthesia in the past. So, praising God for her expertise! She always does a good job and I typically do not "get sick" after anesthesia. I am still feeling really yucky, but am going back to resting in a few. I was moved up on the schedule, so I had my procedure at 0830 vs. at 1130. The surgeon was able to do the procedure laparoscopic vs. having to make a large incision. I have 5 small incisions. I have one to two weeks off from work to heal, so look out for more postings to catch up on the past few months, soon!

I was there really early and my best friend, Eugenia, took me as my sister has been helping with my mom. For those that don't know, my mom is having some health problems. They think she had a TIA. So, we keep praying! :o)

Praising God for his faithfulness!
Psalm 126 is the scripture I am hanging on to during this time. :o)
A song of ascents.
1 When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion,
we were like men who dreamed.
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."

3 The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.

4 Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like streams in the Negev.

5 Those who sow in tears
will reap with songs of joy.

6 He who goes out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with him.

A girl's gotta have. . .

A girl's gotta have. . .
A sanctuary.

Scripture I'm workin' on learning. . .

Isaiah 55:8 (New International Version)8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

Blessed is she who believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished. Luke 1:45 NIV

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

Malachi 4:6a "I the LORD do not change."

"You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
John 13:7

"Humble yourself before the Lord, and he will lift you up." James 4:10

"Cast your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
1 Peter 5:7

Psalm 56:3-4
3 When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalm 145:3
Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Ephesians 5:20 "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Ephesians 5:29-30 "After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. "
